Alan Whitney

In 1990, Alan left his hometown of Rochester, NY for California and quickly began to take his place as a new and exciting artist on the Los Angeles singer-songwriter and acoustic scene. Alan developed his early career performing regularly in famous venues, The Troubadour, Genghis Cohen's (Los Angeles), The Bluebird, Douglas Corner (Nashville), and toured in Europe with maverick country artists Rosie Flores and Chris Gaffney. He once performed a personal, living room command performance for the smiling Motown legend, Smokey Robinson. Alan plunged deep into the American experience, as he worked hard to grow and develop his music.

Looking to further his career, Alan spent several years honing his craft as a staff songwriter. He relocated to Nashville, continuing to perform and shape his artistry. Alan learned fast; co-writing and working beside hit making writers, musicians, and producers for such names as Dwight Yoakum, Garth Brooks, and Patty Loveless. He began to find some success as a writer with several album cuts and single for Curb Artist, Keith Perry ("When I Could Fly"). These days, Alan is fast becoming a busy recording artist and live performer. He has also been developing a career as an independent record producer.
